When creating my screenplay, I was inspired by some of my favorite games, Dragon Age and Baldur Gate 3. I wanted to add in that fantasy dnd aspect to this screenplay and into the characters I made, as seen in their design, one being an elf and the other human, as well as their classifications. When writing this, I wanted to hint at a possible relationship between my two characters. What they are is up to the reader, lovers? Friends? I thought leaving it to the reader, rather than straightly saying it, would add more not only to the story but also to the characters and the aspect of their dynamic.
When writing this screenplay, I struggled with starting it. I had so many ideas to write, but I had only written in short story form. Transforming that into only dialogue while still trying to show the plot through actions was challenging. However, I will not say that it wasn’t interesting to see the path I decided to take when writing this story, while considering the format. I wanted to leave the ending open-ended as well, to allow the reader to make up their own idea of what happens after this dispute. Do they get back together? Who knows. I hope to convey the hurt this one slight decision caused between the characters’ dynamic and how they go from loving and fond to a disagreement in a matter of minutes. Also, portraying that both characters in their own way had their own rights to be angry or upset with one another. All in all I wanted the reader to create their scenarios with how/what my characters dynamic truly is or what the ending for them would be. Will they makeup in the morning, or will this small mistake be the thing to part them forever?
